I love it when things in my world all seem to collide in a good way – in a harmonious way – where instead of reading two books about different things I ended up reading two books abou the same thing – with agreable viewpoints – just slightly different enough to warrant having two books instead of one. Finding Our Way Again Chptrs 8-9 – World views and practices

This book is challenging me and has me thinking quite a lot.

Mclaren challenges our world view in Chptr 8 by having us think not of Heaven as a destination only and therefore to not care or work or try to fix the earth we exist in.  His argument is that we either see the world in what he calls a “contemplative way” in which we beleive in personal gospel, personal piety, heaven centered and sin-averse mind sets and goal OR the “activist way” of socal gospel, common good, earth centered and injustice -averse.
