A Series Of Posts On Worship: Why & What Do You Rehearse?

07 Jun

So, we probably all rehearse. In fact, I’m willing to say we ALL rehearse something – we might just be the ones who rehearse “winging it” or the spiritual equivalent “being moved by the spirit”. Some of us do that. Some don’t. Some of us have stop watches that document our exact length of songs so that we can execute the service knowing that at the designated “sync” time – we can go to the video feed.

Here’s the reality. We all rehearse something. Why? Why do we rehearse?

16 Apr

If you’ve read my blog before you will know that I feel strongly about this and that I have written about this before. Romans 12 is great passage of God’s Word that really nets it out in plain English. I’m not going delve into the “the Bible says…” thing here – you can read my previous posts on this topic

This post is about the “how”. How do you worship while pumping gas? While eating at McDonalds? While buying groceries? While doing your taxes? While going to your kids piano recital? While correcting your kid? While having a special “date night” with your spouse? While sweeping/laundry/cleaning toilets/cutting grass/shoveling snow etc etc etc etc ??? How can you worship in these situations we find ourselves in day to day? Read the rest of this entry »
