A Series of posts on Worship: Worship in church

Worship in church is an incredibly broad and sweeping topic – so I’ll get right to it.
Our worship services are ALL about WORSHIP – every part of them being an act or an opportunity to WORSHIP. Nothing is exempt. If it IS exempt in your mind, or in the mind of your pastor or denomination, then you have the right to ask them why it isn’t an act-of or opportunity-to worship. If they can justify that it isn’t worship – they also need up justify it’s place in that service.

Dr appointments Pt 2, or 3….

So, my youngest son has been waiting for a follow-up appointment at Sick Kids in Toronto. It was cancelled while we were Enroute to TO for that appointment. That is the 2nd time we’ve had this specialist need to cancel us the morning of – yep, twice in 6 months. I really like, respect and value this specialist – but I guess I am I still wondering if doctors are allowed to “be sick”? Read the rest of this entry »

 

Lent: I am now starting to really Crave

So, a full 2 weeks in I am now really starting to crave the things I gave up – sweets. I am starting to see some benefits both spiritually and physically. Prayer: Do you do it?

I love prayer. Why? Well, to be perfectly honest, I need to be connected with God. But, to continue my honesty, I find it tough to pray as often as I should. There is always a really big list of things to pray about – how do I possibly find time to pray for ALL of it? Truth: I don’t. I merely approach prayer in an organized fashion. Learning: Do you believe??

Learning is something I believe in. Why? Because I believe that’s how we grow. Either as a musician, carpenter or in our faith.

Do you believe in learning? If you do – great. If you don’t – why? Do feel things are beyond you? Are you just too busy or pre-occupied to bother? Are you pretty sure that can’t learn it anyway? Have you always found learning things difficult or that you never seem to “get it”?
